France is located on the continent Europe, and has a coast on the Atlantic Ocean, that merges into the Bay of Biscay. The country is between Spain, Belgium, Germany, and part of Italy.

The total area of France is 643,801 sq km (including the owned waterfront) or slightly more than four times the size of Georgia and slightly less than the size of Texas. 7.97% the size of the continental US.

For the most part France is rolling hills and flat plains. the rest of the terrain consists of the alps and the Pyrenees.
